PMI NJ writes: By its nature, a Business Continuity Program develops plans to prepare for the unexpected. This conflicts with a key principle of project management – that timely decisions and certainty of goals are essential to delivering a project successfully. Hence, however well- defined the Business Continuity Planning process may be, its outcome is subject to the uncertainties of unpredictable events. This presentation introduces Quality Risk Management (QRM) into the Business Continuity Planning process. QRM elevates the role of risk identification, management and mitigation in the planning process. It transforms where project risk is managed, putting it into the hands of the Business Continuity Manager who is then supported by the involved business channels. This enables the entire Business Continuity project team to collectively share and address the issues of risk.
