NEW FEATURED ARTICLE:

Improving the project management performance of nonprofits

Nonprofit organizations, comprising 1.5 million in the US, face challenges in project management despite employing 10% of the workforce and spending nearly $2.5 trillion. Rooted in inadequate recognition and resourcing, project failures plague the sector, affecting vulnerable populations. A novel approach, Strategic Business Execution (SBE), advocates for distinguishing work into planning, operating, and changing categories to improve prioritization and resource allocation. Effective project management could mitigate strain on nonprofit professionals and enhance project success.

NEARING EVENT

PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT SUMMIT on may 31, 2024

Project portfolio management is gaining prominence in the project management field due to three key reasons: 1) Organizations are prioritizing projects aligned with their strategies for competitiveness; 2) Addressing significant challenges like risks, resources, governance, and performance; 3) Enhancing investment performance by executing the right projects the right way. However, forums for project portfolio management are scarce, especially for Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) certification holders needing Professional Development Units (PDUs). PMO Advisory, a PMI Authorized Training Partner, is addressing this gap by organizing a virtual summit for portfolio professionals to gather, learn, network, and delve into the world of project portfolio management.

INTERESTED TO BE A SPEAKER?

Are you an experienced project, program, and/or portfolio management professional with unique ideas and perspectives? And do you want to share with others? If yes, then consider presenting at one of the PMO Advisory’s upcoming virtual summits and submit your idea. Currently, we have four summits planned in the next 12 months, including portfolio management, program management,
leading projects in a VUCA world, and rising to become a chief project officer. In 2022, I spoke at the PM’s Global Summit. As I looked across the topics, I realized there were voids, and that’s when PMO Advisory started organizing specialty project management summits. If there is a topic that’s dear to your heart, then let us know too. There are many reasons you may wish to consider speaking. But chief among them is 1) you have a voice, and 2) you want to be heard. So please consider joining us as a speaker for one of the upcoming conferences. Visit our summit webpage and express your interest.
