Dr. Brian Williamson serves as Executive Director, leading the consulting practice at PMO Advisory. With a career spanning over 30 years, Brian is a seasoned executive specializing in Strategic Portfolio, Program, and Project Management. He is driven by a deep sense of purpose, believing that while profit is essential, it is not the ultimate purpose of a company. Instead, he advocates for enterprises to engage all stakeholders in shared and sustained value creation, serving not only their investors but also society, the environment, and capital.
He has successfully guided diverse organizations across sectors, including academia, biopharmaceuticals, chemicals, healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, and non-profit organizations. As the Executive Director leading the consulting practice at PMO Advisory, Dr. Brian Williamson is at the forefront of delivering a comprehensive suite of services designed to elevate organizational performance. Under his leadership, the practice offers specialized solutions, including PMO assessments, roadmaps, and optimizations; and the innovative plug-and-play “PMO in a Box” offering. Additionally, the consulting practice provides Project Management as a Service (PMaaS), which enables organizations to leverage expert project management capabilities on demand, and offers credentialed resources for staff augmentation, ensuring that clients have access to the best talent to meet their strategic goals. Credentials and Academic Background
Brian holds numerous credentials from the Project Management Institute (PMI), including Portfolio Management (PfMP)®, Program Management (PgMP)®, Project Management (PMP)®, Risk Management (PMI-RMP)®, Scheduling Management (PMI-SP)®, Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)®, and Agile (PMI-ACP)®. He is also certified in ITIL®, Six Sigma, and Fraud Examination. His academic background includes dual Master’s Degrees in Management of Technology and Information Systems Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering (formally Polytechnic University), and a Doctorate in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University. Brian’s expertise in organizational development, business transformation, and purpose-driven project alignment has earned him international recognition having received the prestigious PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence. Brian is also a Fellow with the Association for Project Management (U.K.),and holds the designations of Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) and Registered Project Professional (RPP).
