III. Additional Information

A. Other Recommended Actions (preferably prior to the start of the class):

  • Strongly Recommended. Prior to the class, we highly recommend our training participants to read A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Sixth Edition. If you are a PMI member, you can sign-in and download it here.  If you are not a member, we urge you to consider joining PMI. Even though you pay for the membership, there are significant savings on the exam as you would be paying the member rate. Plus, you can download all their standards and guides for free.
    • Even though the PMBOK® Guide) – Seventh Edition is already available, the current exam is still based on the 6.0 edition. PMI has not announced a specific date of transition.  That said, we also encourage you to read the 7.0 edition too.
  • Strongly Recommended. After you register and log-in to the course, please spend some time to familiarize yourself with the content. Specifically, consider using the Self-Knowledge check and self-assess your pre-mastery.  You can also do that in PMO Advisory’s PMP Exam Simulator in the Flexible Mode, which generates 50 questions. You can use that to gauge your readiness.
  • Recommend. Our CEO recently published a project management book titled “Optimizing Project Management”.  This book provides a comprehensive yet simpler coverage of all the major topics in project management. Through the case study and discussions, this book is an invaluable aid designed to give readers a better understanding of project management. For more information, visit www.optimizepm.com.
