The PgMP Full 3 Days course is offered in four tiers of support: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.   • Gold Tier: $2,599. Similar to Platinum except 180 days of support and access. Also, class minimize size required

Overview of PgMP Certification: PgMP certification candidates must meet some advanced requirements to earn the designation.

To qualify for the PgMP, candidates must have one of the following sets of education and experience:

  • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate degree or global equivalent), with a minimum of four years of project management experience and seven years of program management experience
  • A four-year degree (bachelor’s degree or global equivalent), with a minimum of four years of project management experience and four years of program management experience

If a candidate meets one of the above requirements, they can proceed to the next step of the PgMP application process, known as the Panel Review. In this phase, a panel of certified program managers reviews the candidate’s application and performs an assessment of the candidate’s professional experience.

Candidates who make it past the Panel Review must then pass the PgMP certification exam.

 

PgMP Certification Exam Details

Candidates must take the PgMP certification exam within twelve months of passing the PMI Panel Review phase. The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions and lasts four hours. Candidates may not bring any materials into the examination room, but they are provided with either blank paper and pencils or a marker board and markers.

Here is a breakdown of the major knowledge domains covered by the PgMP exam, with an approximate percentage of how many questions are dedicated to each domain:

  • Strategic Program Management (15 percent)
  • Program Life Cycle (44 percent)
  • Benefits Management (11 percent)
  • Stakeholder Management (16 percent)
  • Governance (14 percent)

Candidates who do not pass the PgMP exam on their first attempt may retake the exam up to two more times in the one-year qualification period. Candidates who do not pass the exam after three attempts must wait twelve months from the last exam attempt before reapplying for the PgMP.

 

PgMP Application and certification process:

  1. Verify that you meet the PMI PgMP eligibility requirements above
  2. Create an account at www.pmi.org
  3. Complete the on-line PgMP application at pmi.org and submit
  4. In approximately 5 days you will receive an application approval e-mail from PMI; log into www.pmi.org and pay your credential fee ($1500 for PMI members and $1800 for non-PMI members). Within minutes you will receive a confirmation e-mail stating 1 of 2 things:
    1. Thank you…here is your test code and exam scheduling instructions
    2. Thank you…your application has been selected for audit…here is your audit welcome packet
  5. If you are audited (25% of applications are randomly selected for audit upon payment of exam fees), complete all audit forms and mail them to PMI. In approximately 5 days you will receive an e-mail stating 1 of 3 things:
    1. Thank you…here is your test code and exam scheduling instructions
    2. Thank you…we require further information…here is what we need
    3. Sorry…you have failed to meet the audit requirements…please refer to the PgMP Handbook for our refund policy procedure
  6. In approximately 5 days you will receive an e-mail stating 1 of 2 things:
    1. Thank you…you have successfully completed PMI’s Panel Review…here is your test code
    2. Sorry…you have failed to pass PMI’s Panel Review process…please refer to the PgMP Handbook for our refund policy procedure
  7. When you have your test code, go to www.prometric.com/PMI to schedule your exam
  8. Upon successful completion of your exam, you will enter the next level of evaluation: multi-rater assessment (MRA), a 360 ͦ evaluation of your performance by at least 12 individuals and yourself, including:
    1. 1 supervisor
    2. 4 peers
    3. 4 direct reports
    4. 3 additional references from any of the above categories
  9. Upon successful completion of your MRA, you will be notified via email and postal mail that you have been awarded your PgMP credential
